Stylish men around the globe are familiar with Jack Spade. The clean, modern items from Kate Spade’s men’s accessories pseudonym have been hanging around our shoulders more over the past decade than, well, the sculpted calves of gymnasts from the Russian Olympic men’s team.
Though the brand recently lost one of its brightest designers in Matt Singer, it’s our gain as the self-branded up-and-comer boasts an eponymous accessories (plus a few classic button-downs) label that’s right up our dimly-lit, booze-stained alley.
We say booze-stained in only the classiest of contexts – Singer’s launch line is full of the reminiscent updated takes on classic lines and minimal appointments that inspired us to have our first big crush with Jack.
Included in Singer’s collection is everything from the traditional: two shirt styles (short and long sleeve Oxfords, $195), a bevy of vintage-invoking watches ($450 – $985), suede and cotton belts ($52); to the whimsical: tie-dye lighter cover ($20), suede roll-up backgammon ($165), and a mysterious Super Hero Secret Identity Kit (coming soon).
But it’s the similar creations Singer stitched to make us fall in love with him when we called him by another name – the four canvas bags offered in the collection: tote, weekend, brief and messenger ($205 – $215) – that we have a hard spot on our hearts for. It’s these homo-satchels that have pushed us over the edge, having us willing to cheat on Jack with Matt.
After all, juggling two men is not a new trick for us, so at least we have a cute new weekend bag to keep our infidelities straight (well, gay).
