For years now, our messenger bag has done nothing more than sit there like some unmotivated piece of nylon held together by a strap and a fancy designer label. Sure, it’s capable of holding our laptop, an emergency tambourine and six pairs of clean underwear in case we have to flee a scene quickly, but that’s about it.
Well, it’s 2012 and we’ve not only upgraded our laptop to a sexy-as-hell MacBook Air, but its transportation device, too.
Introducing the newest gadget we can’t live without: The Powerbag Instant Messenger.
It’s a bag with built-in chargers compatible with iPads, Kindles, NOOKs, Galaxy Tabs, iPhones, and other types of phones we’re not sure why people are still carrying.
It also has a USB connection for charging just about anything else that can plug into such a port. (Like our mobile George Foreman Grill.)
If only it had enough power to fuel our laptop, we’d be in total geek heaven. But just keeping our iPhone and other electronic necessities at maximum capacity is good enough for us.
Each full charge of the bag provides enough power to re-charge an item at least four times. Or even more, depending on how juiceless everything is.
Plus, this sucker’s got plenty of organizational skill thanks to several pockets, zippered pouches and a padded compartment that holds up to a 17” laptop.
The Powerbag is also “checkpoint friendly,” meaning it allows you to keep your laptop in the bag when going through airport security, though we suspect TSA agents may not believe that.
Just like our request for a hotter security guard to pat us down and perform our doctor-prescribed strip search.
