Starting Thursday, Dallas launches its first Craft Cocktails Texas event with four days of cocktaily goodness. This should be like the Tales of the Cocktail boozefest in New Orleans that we love so much, just much closer to home.
It’s a nonstop party, except unlike the ones your friends throw with red Solo cups and bottom-shelf liquor, you get the best cocktails in Texas.
Instead of Sex on the Beach, you might get a basil-and-thyme-infused Vodka Collins with aromatic bitters, cage-free orange zest and an organic, free-range, sustainable umbrella. Or something like that. But sex on the beach afterward is still a possibility. (As long as you’re cool with the White Rock Lake shoreline.)
If you’re really into the artistry and science behind cocktails, then attend the fascinating seminars led by some of the industry’s most innovative bartenders.
And if you love to drink like a big gay fish and had to choose just one event, it’s the VIP opening party tomorrow at the Stoneleigh Hotel for just $40.
There, you’ll find multiple bars in a variety of indoor, outdoor and penthouse venues featuring dozens of liquor brands, live music and plenty of drunk girls screaming, “WOOOOOOOOOO!”
We’ll be the ones pointing and laughing. But mostly because of their shoes.
