We think we’re moving to Brazil.
After our last visit to Fogo de Chao, we were reminded just how sexy their gaucho chefs are. And when they come out to our table and plop their delicious meat in front of us, we practically swoon.
If you haven’t been to Fogo in a while (or ever), here’s a refresher course. You’ll start with the massive salad bar filled with gorgeous vegetables, cured meats and cheeses. Just don’t overdo it. You wouldn’t want to deprive your carnivorous side of any valuable stomach space.
Then the meats come one by one until you tell the gauchos to cease and desist. We love the Lombo (grilled pork loin coated in parmesan cheese). The Picanha (prime cut top sirloin) is the house specialty and our favorite cut of beef on the menu.
What is new at Fogo this summer is a full line of signature Caipirinha cocktails, a refreshing blend of limes, sugar and cachaça – a Brazilian spirit made from sugarcane. Now you can get them in all sorts of crazy flavors.
Because if you’re going to eat that much food, you’ve gotta balance it out in cocktails.
It’s how they do it in Brazil. We think.
