Pink Traveler: One Heavenly Hotel

It’s almost Labor Day. And that means only one thing. You should be heading for New Orleans to celebrate the most debaucherous gay holiday of them all: Southern Decadence.

But to balance out all the half-naked street parties, male strippers, porn stars, big appendage competitions, costume parades and non-stop drinking, it’s a great idea to stay someplace peaceful. Elegant. And so chic it’s almost sinful.

Introducing the French Quarter’s hottest new hotel, The Saint.

Built in 1909, the structure was originally planned to be a hotel, but instead (sadly) became an office building. In late 2011, however, the historically significant building finally transformed into the hotel it was always destined to be. Though back in the early 1900s, they could have never dreamed the palace of sophistication it would one day become.

From modern, inviting public spaces to the bright blue-and-white interiors of the rooms, no detail is too small. Luxurious bedding, large “room for a crowd” showers, Niven Morgan amenities and free Wi-Fi all make it difficult to leave this serenity cocoon for the craziness of the Quarter.

But you must. Decadence beckons.

And because you need to eat before heading out to all that drinking, make reservations at the hotel’s new signature restaurant, Tempt. A delightful blend of Cajun flavors and of-the-moment techniques, the menu is approachable yet creatively inspired. Plus, a drag brunch was just announced for the Sunday of Decadence.

There are so many choices when it comes to hotels in New Orleans, and trust us, we’ve slept around, but if you want to impress your friends with a room key from the current “It” hotel, you won’t even have to pray that you get into The Saint.

All you need is a reservation.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

The processor or CPU could be the brains with the individual computer – it does most with the calculations your video game titles need to have to need to run (with the movie card undertaking most of the graphics function). With it getting such an critical part, you would instinctually go for the fastest – and most pricey – processor you can discover, but there is a improved alternate to blowing hard cash on 1 thing that is going to be obsolete in a year: receiving a processor that will play tomorrow’s video game titles at a low cost is the sweet spot for any gaming computer.
