Put Some Gay In Your Day!

Totally Oz-some

dal-01_21_13

True confessions: We hate The Wizard of Oz.

There, we’ve finally put it out in the universe. No more pretending to care about Wicked, no more clicking our heels together three times to feel like a part of a community, and no more courtesy laughs for queens who love to end sentences with “…and your little dog, too!”

Wow, we finally feel free. And so alive!

But being as incredibly open-minded as we are, we refuse to judge the millions of people who adore the film or the thousands of gays who enjoy wearing Dorothy costumes at any given opportunity.

So if you’re one of those die-hard fans, or potentially willing to give the movie a 73rd chance like we are, there’s a fantastic way to experience the Munchkins, Flying Monkeys and that oddly sexy silver guy with the funnel on his head in a whole new way.

It’s Oz with Orchestra, a multimedia production featuring a brilliantly restored version of the film and Judy Garland’s original 1939 studio recordings all set to live accompaniment by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. The swell of music filling Bass Hall just might be enough to make us believers once and for all.

Just don’t expect us to sing along.

Oz with Orchestra
Friday & Saturday, 8:00 p.m., Sunday, 2:00 p.m.
Tickets: $27 – $79
Bass Performance Hall
525 Commerce Street, Fort Worth
