Time travel is awesome. We should know because often times we hit the bars on a Friday night and somewhere around midnight, we’re transported to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without a single recollection of how we got there.
So, the only logical explanations are alien abduction or time travel.
But today, one of our favorite actresses is traveling back in time. It’s Emily Rossum – you’ll know her if you watch the wickedly funny Shameless on Showtime. Or you’ll discover her in a couple weeks when Beautiful Creatures hits theaters.
Yet even if you’ve never heard her name, we have a feeling you’ll love the cheerful Sentimental Journey as much as we do. Featuring sweet-and-sappy tunes from the 1920s to the 1960s, listening to this album elicits pure joy.
Rossum’s splendid voice brings new life to old-fashioned songs that range from “Sentimental Journey” and “I’m Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover” to “These Foolish Things” and “Pretty Paper.”
It’s one of those perfect cocktail party albums. Just be careful, because we also seem to do a lot of time travel at those, too.
