Celebrate the weekend with free fro-yo

We talk about frozen yogurt at Gay List Daily almost as much as we talk about the global economic crisis, the war in Afghanistan or which Jonas Brother rocks his skinny jeans best (well, at least between the two that we can legally talk about).

So you know if we’re talking about yogurt again, it’s got to be something good.

Red Mango, purveyors of delicious, tangy all-natural frozen yogurt, is now open on Cedar Springs at ilume. There are also four other area locations now open and the company has even moved its headquarters to Dallas.

So to celebrate the grand opening of all five stores and the company’s move to Big D, this Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., customers will be treated to a free small Original Flavor frozen yogurt with one topping at any area location.

We’re planning our last-minute Christmas shopping accordingly so we can get a free dish at every Red Mango in the area. We’ve got it all mapped out on our iPhones and our toll tags have been reloaded.

We plan to start in Allen and work our way south. Our copilots will consult the Excel spreadsheet we created with all the possible topping combinations so that we can maximize our experience and take full advantage of their generosity. (Isn’t that what the holiday season is all about? Taking?) At least Red Mango is bucking the trend and giving.

Guerilla Gay Bar Tomorrow
Tomorrow night, gays are taking over The Gingerman in Uptown (2718 Boll Street, near the Quadrangle). And it's not ANY Guerilla Gay Bar evening, it's the special first annual "Snugg-Gay Takeover."

(Yes, you read that right. It shocked us, too.)

Based on popular Snuggie pub crawls across the country, the dashing hosts of GGB will be giving this one a gay spin! Show up en masse wearing your Snuggies any time after 8:30 p.m. tomorrow. And if that's not gay enough, they're encouraging folks to decorate, manipulate and otherwise bedazzle their Snuggies and then enter the Miss Snugg-Gay contest for a chance to win some GREAT prizes, including two tickets to the Uptown Players presentation of "Equus" and a set of Motown Gay Bingo tickets. So come on and get your creative juices flowing! (Arrive early to enter the competition and to avoid the lines.)
