Blinded By The Light

It’s curtains for bad window treatments

Decorating your windows is like accessorizing - a little goes a long way. (You hear that, Mr. cubic zirconia earrings, bracelet and matchy-matchy oversized belt buckle!?)

But when we laid eyes upon the “Until Dawn” curtains by Dutch designer Tord Boontjes, we knew that our drapes were moving up the ranks from window-supporting cast member to spotlight-stealing diva.

Made of Tyvek, a hard-to-tear but easy-to-cut paper material, “Until Dawn” curtains look like a cracked-out version of the paper snowflakes you made as a kid. Except this time, instead of simple geometric shapes there are intricately laser-cut flowers and animals. Not since Julie Andrews did her own Project Runway challenge and whipped up outfits for those Von Trapp children have we been this excited about drapes.

And although these curtains may make the room come alive with shadow and movement, they still don’t block out everything. So don’t blame us if the neighbors get a glimpse of you busting out some at-home naked yoga.
