Wear this shirt with pride to Pride

American Apparel t-shirts have always been among our favorites, thanks to their slim, tapered design, comfy cotton and the naughty-looking models who wear them in the ads.

And their “Legalize Gay” shirt has been an enormous hit (much more so than the equally important “Slaughter Anyone Wearing Crocs” issue-oriented shirts we tried to peddle last summer).

Back in November 2008, American Apparel created the “Legalize Gay” shirt to give out to Prop 8 protesters at rallies and marches in California. The shirts became so popular that they added them to their online and retail stores and they’ve been huge sellers.

Sure, it’s been nearly a year since the controversial proposition passed, but the message is still timely. So just in time for the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade and all the Dallas Pride events this week, this is a great shirt to wear. Whether you’re a leather chaps kinda guy, a dyke on a bike, or a PFLAG crusader, this shirt will still go with your parade-day outfits and make more than a few homophobes choke on their morals as you prance proudly past their porches.

Then one day, when the shirt’s message is pointless because everyone in the United States has equal rights, you have a nice rag to wash your car.
