Pink Belly Laughs
How about some homo brand ha-ha?
Being gay is hard work! Not only do we have to devote hours to manis, pedis, manscaping and product application, we also have to keep fashion on the cutting edge and, of course, rain on the right-wing’s parade whenever possible with pesky little issues like marriage and equality.
Why, it’s enough stress to give a boy wrinkles (unless said boy was Botoxed into a frozen state of youthful, unemotive bliss).
But at the end of a really long day, there’s nothing like laughter to chase away the woe. Well, laughter and margaritas. So we hope you have a really hard day on Sunday, September 7, ‘cause the comedy of Gay Up Stand Up is certain to make you forget all about it (until you see your laugh lines, that is).
Bringing together some of the best LGBT comedians, Gay Up Stand Up boasts a roster of funny folks you may have seen on TV or maybe just hookin’ it on the corner.
There’s Jason Dudey (and yes, he knows everyone giggles at his last name), Erin Foley, Shawn Pelofsky and local church-lady-with-chutzpah Paul J. Williams. And as a special treat, the lovely Cassie Nova, the prettiest drag queen on earth, is emceeing.
(Note: Miss Nova said if we didn’t call her the prettiest she’d introduce our corneas to the tip of her stilettos.)
Gay Up Stand Up is only painting Dallas pink for one night as part of its glamorous tour (which includes Wichita and Tulsa – yikes), so make sure to get your tickets before they sell out.
Tickets: $20 advance, $25 at the door
Sunday, September 7, 8:00 p.m.
