Attack Of The Blob

Ideas take the stage at Blob Live

Sugar Daddies are a rare sight these days. Sure, Numbers is still in business, so they’re out there somewhere, but the random offer to take care of our hefty bar tab at the Eagle is a relic of the past.

Sadly, even the Sugar Daddies scatter these days when the gays start prodding for investors over dinner at Mark’s. What’s a queen with the next big idea to do?

Taking a cue from our lesbian sister’s penchant for poetry slams and live mic nights, Blob Live might be the answer for budding local entrepreneurs looking to share their business idea, in these, the Dark Ages of startups. Just as in said notorious era, anyone with an idea, no matter how marketable, is treated like a carrier of the plague.

But Blob Live thinks that now is a great time for sharing creativity and searching out business prospects. By giving future entrepreneurs a chance to lay their thoughts out for fellow masterminds to dissect, Blob Live ensures that outlets for startups don’t dry up.

While the event sounds like an off-Broadway musical inspired by the cult 50’s horror film, it’s actually based on the successful website ideablob.com, a gathering place for thinkers and movers. Blob Live takes the site’s concept of bouncing ideas off of a network of peers and extends it into the corporeal realm, giving hopefuls a more intimate chance to take their idea to the next level.

We haven’t seen such a worthy real-world extension of an internet hit since Chi Chi LaRue landed in brick and mortar, which gives us an idea for our startup…
