Reality Cho

Catch the outspoken comedienne’s life on the K List (psst…that’s K for Korean!)

Ooh, girl, there’s a battle brewing! And it might not end pretty because two top comediennes are battling for cable ratings, but more importantly, the allegiance of gay men everywhere.

After four successful seasons of My Life on the D List for Kathy Griffin, the same formula is being applied to Margaret Cho’s life in The Cho Show on VH-1.

Both shows focus on the outrageousness and inappropriate material of their stars. Both feature a cast of wacky assistants and a gaggle of gays. And yes, both have cameo appearances from the stars’ devoted parents and fellow celebrities.

But that’s okay. As they say, plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery. And we loves us some Margaret Cho, so who says there’s not room for both of these hilarious women on the airwaves?

Not us, that’s who!

Margaret’s first episode follows her struggle to accept the “Korean of the Year” award from a group that has collectively been known to turn its back on Cho for not being “Korean” enough.

The decisions of what to wear and how dirty her act should be keep the laughs flying as we’re introduced to her “Glam Squad” (her gay hairdresser, makeup artist and wardrobe consultant), and her little-person assistant, Selene Luna, who threatens to steal the show.

Getting a weekly dose of Margaret Cho is going to do wonders for our bodies, too, because if the first episode is an indication of things to come, we’re going to surely laugh our asses off.

And that’s good for at least, oh, 2 pounds.
