Josh Kilmer-Purcell’s Slice of the Big Apple
One of our favorite authors reveals his favorite spots in the city
Though New York Times bestselling author Joshua Kilmer-Purcell (I Am Not Myself These Days, The Bucolic Plague) now spends his time raising kids (as in goats) and vegetables with partner Dr. Brent Ridge on Planet Green’s The Fabulous Beekman Boys, there was a time in the recent past he spent raising hell in New York City.
As the fabulous Aqua, Josh Kilmer-Purcell’s drag alter-ego (famed for her fishbowl breasticles), our beloved denizen conquered the city’s nightlife. As the grown-up author, loving partner and “accidental upstate famer,” Josh’s appreciation for New York City (where he still spends most of his time) has evolved. We couldn’t wait to check in with the reality-TV star to find out his favorite NYC spots of the past (while Aqua was still around) and of today in this month’s Slice of the Big Apple.
