Get off your bum and win a ski trip to the swish alps!

Does your TiVo have a Season Pass to The Amazing Race? So does ours. Every year we plan to audition but never get around to making that pesky video tape (and not just because the camera adds ten pounds). But ultimately, who wants to travel the globe with all those straight people?

Luckily the Ski Bums, New York’s GLBT ski group, are gearing up for their second annual charity race inspired by the hit TV show, the Bums Rush!

Teams of Bums will race through the bowels of the city on a mad-capped adventure as they compete to win a seven-day snow-capped gay-cation to one of the world’s most spectacular winter wonderlands, St. Anton, Austria.

Your inner Maria will definitely be singing “The Hills Are Alive” as you and your partner spin your way through the steel mountains of Manhattan (although last year’s winners were overheard screaming, “The Worms Are Alive!?” during the final eating challenge).

The 2007 race had contestants writing with their toes, translating French Madlibs, and locating the highest natural point in Manhattan (which happens to be in Washington Heights).

Sign up early because each team must raise donations for Lambda Legal and the teams who raise the most moolah will have an advantage.

Even if you’re not yet a skier or snowboarder, you are guaranteed an exhilarating, fun-filled day where you will surely meet lots of cuties as you raise money for a great gay cause!

So fill out the entry form and pump up the A/C full-blast as you imagine you and your B.F.F. plowing through the powder in Europe without spending a Euro!
