Boys R Us
Chelsea Piers gets us serious about fitness
We’ve all done it – packed our little Izod murses chock full of workout gloves, a spare change of super tight undies and concealer, and we set out like Little Red Riding Hooker to the gym. We showed up looking all cute – perfectly spiked hair and fully moisturized with Kiehl’s.
And, boy did we work that gym floor!
But, now we realize we’ve reached a plateau in our fitness routine. Our arms aren’t growing any bigger; our asses aren’t getting any tighter – just about the only body part getting a workout is our neck, which practically snaps in half each time a hot man walks by with that follow-me-to-the-shower glare.
Thankfully, we’ve been rescued.
A recent visit to The Sports Center at Chelsea Piers revealed some massive renovations sure to please the aspiring hard-bodied boy in us all. Here, we can get our groove on at a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art health club, complete with 6-lane, 25-yard pool that lends a new meaning to “swimmers build” in our Manhunt profiles; personal training from over 50 of New York’s hottest certified personal trainers; an 8-week intense boot camp; professional triathlon training and even a spa that can help us look the age we may or may not have doctored up in our online bios.
The Center is like a giant toy store for men who are serious about their fitness.
The Sports Center also offers over 100 group exercise classes each week, a 10,000 sq. ft. rock climbing wall, a boxing ring and multiple courts for games all things “ball.”
The Sports Center at Chelsea Piers truly is a full sports complex designed to whip our asses into shape – just what we need after eating rum balls at all the holiday parties on our very busy social calendars.
