Movin’ On Up
…to the Bitches in the Sky
This entire glorious city is a stage, whether on Broadway, off or so far off it’s somewhere upstate like in Washington Heights.
But often New York’s most dramatic moments occur behind closed doors, 50 floors above the sidewalks. The web comic Bitches in the Sky allows us a peek inside the cattiest penthouses in the city.
Already heavily into a multitude of storylines with more dramatic arcs than Latoya Jackson’s tattooed eyebrows, Bitches in the Sky is the latest only-in-New-York production to leave us nothing short of addicted.
Legendary NYC drag-performer Linda Simpson created the gender-bending internet photo novella, unashamedly inspired by campy Telenovelas and trashy graphic novels to create a website that we’ve visited more than X-Tube in the past month, which our IT team claims is a first.
As far as storylines go, BITS loosely chronicles the city’s eccentric elite – think Karen Walker – as they screw, backstab and sass their way to the top (or bottom, depending on which socialite nightlife superstar, like Cazwell, is guest-starring in the episode).
However, it’s the cast regulars, such as local celebrities Ladyfag, Sylvia London and Angela Di Carlo alongside (or below) hot pieces like Matthew Camp (pictured) who keep us tuning in three times a week, reminding us why it’s best we weren’t born with silver spoons in our mouths – which is perfect because it allows us the extra room necessary to make our casting couch audition for the web comic a success…
New webisodes of Bitches in the Sky are added on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
