To See Or Not To See?
Which Broadway show is the question
The gays are a very resilient breed of homosapien. When we get slapped, instead of offering up our other cheek, we just apply a bit of blush to make them match! When we start losing our hair, we make shaving our heads trendy and call it bald-chic! But when we lose everything in the stock market and can no longer afford tickets to see Harry’s Potter, we Broadway Boys won’t even flinch as we blind those Dumblewhores down on Wall Street as if they were horses in Equus! We will cut you!
Although we can’t help with your plunging 401k, the Gay List Daily boys have about 401g(ay) ways to plunge your ass back into one of those uncomfortable Broadway seats.
You already know you can save 25 – 50% off at the TKTS Booth for same-day shows, but did you know they have three locations? Times Square, South Street Seaport and now downtown Brooklyn.
Too cash poor? As of Thursday, the Times Square location accepts credit cards!
Most shows also have Rush or Standing Room tickets sold immediately before each performance. Others have daily lotteries for front row seats under $30 (Avenue Q, Wicked and Hairspray).
And for serious Theater Queens, on-stage seating is available at Spring Awakening ($40) and Equus ($76.50).
Off Broadway deals may be found at the New York Theater Workshop (nytw.org) where you can score $20 tickets and still make Sunday Tea. You can also check out seasonofsavings.com for up to 55% off exorbitant show prices.
However, if you can’t even afford a meal these days, then your theater-starved six-pack needs to know about the Free Night of Theater! Six thousand tickets for performances through the end of October are available on a first come, first served basis at freenightnyc.net.
Just be sure not to miss Boys Night at Fuerza Bruta (10/17 & 11/7 @ 10:30 p.m.) where you can save 35% (broadwayoffers.com, discount code FBBOY45) and see boys frolicking in a pool that will make you so hot that you’ll wonder if you’re going through “the change.”
