Your Morning Beans For Beans!

Looking for a corporate downsize? Mud is all you need

Defiantly parked within a one block radius of not one, but two huge corporate coffee behemoths, the Mud Truck is the perfect place to caffeinate while simultaneously saving money and sticking it to the Tall, Half-Caf, Full-Fat Straight Man.

Even though we’re not supposed to encourage our gay brothers to up their carb intake, we’ll definitely keep it on the down low if you use your left over dough to buy a doughy bagel imported from H&H, or even a delicious pastry from Sarabeth’s Kitchen!

An orange beacon of classic East Village anti-establishment, the colorful Mud Truck is located directly next to the uptown Astor Place subway stop at the busy intersection of Starbucks and Starbucks.

You’re sure to recognize it by the long, mutinous line of starry eyed ex ‘buckers waiting patiently for a hot cup of New York’s best gourmet street coffee during the morning rush hour (a.k.a. Walk of Shame).

There’s nothing decaffeinated about the Mom and Pop team who parked their first Mud Truck at Astor Place in 2001. It wasn’t long before Nina Berott and Greg Northrop started beating Goliath-bucks at their own Grande game.

The Mud Truck now competes for your hard-earned beans in several downtown locations, including Sheridan Square. There’s even a permanent, non-wheeled location called Mud Spot on East 9th Street and a well-heeled Mud Spot at Kiehl’s.

Now, you can sip Mud and buy mud (the exfoliating kind) at the same place! How dirty.
